2024 is a very exciting year for Wakefield, NH! Incorporated in 1774, Wakefield is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year. Many great events are planned throughout the entire year. In 1974, to mark the 200th anniversary, an historical book was published. It was chock full of historical data and photographs, documenting 200 years of Wakefield history. 50 years later, why not document
and celebrate the present? Yes! A photojournal of the very reason the Villages of Wakefield continue to grow, breathe, and thrive…its residents!

We’re very excited to open up this generational opportunity to Wakefield, NH residents! Have your family’s portrait taken by Sanbornville portrait artists, Birch Blaze Studios, and featured in this historic publication! For just $200, you’ll receive:

A 30-minute portrait session at your home, or a location around Wakefield
Inclusion in “Faces of Wakefield, NH: 250 Years and Counting,” Wakefield 250th hardcover anniversary book, with family portrait and “bio” on a single page.
Faces of Wakefield hardcover book pre-order “at cost,” (production costs yet to be determined).
7×10 matted print, OR, $200 artwork credit to use toward additional artwork for your home.

We have streamlined our booking process for this project. MAKE SURE YOU READ and UNDERSTAND OUR PROCESS before booking your session:

The Faces of Wakefield, NH book project base session fee is $200. The session fee is collected at time of booking, and includes a 30 minute, family portrait session at your home, or a different Wakefield, NH location, inclusion of your portrait in the "Faces of Wakefield, NH: 250 Years and Counting," and your choice of a 7x10, matted print, or a $200 print credit to use towards portrait art (additional session packages are available).
Please note that additional prints or digital images are not included, but may be purchased at your Premier Ordering Appointment, held 2-7 days following your portrait session at our Sanbornville studio, where we'll reveal approximately 20-30 gorgeous portraits from your session.
Ahead of your session, we will meet at our Sanbornville studio for a planning appointment. This brief meetup at our studio will give us the opportunity to meet each other, in-person, ahead of your portrait session. We'll discuss ideas and styling for the session, and nail down last-minute details, such as exact time and location.
Lastly, within one week of your session's completion, we'll have your image reveal/ordering appointment, either at our Sanbornville studio or over Zoom. This is when you'll be able to view a slideshow of all the portraits we've created, make your portrait selection for the book, and decide how to apply your artwork credit, i.e. ordering wall art, photo album, individual prints or print bundles (due to scheduling constraints, this will be the only opportunity to select and order artwork. We ask that all financial decision-makers be present for this appointment).

What is the cost?

As part of Wakefield’s 250th, year-long anniversary celebration, we’re excited to offer this special price for a historic portrait session for your family! For just $200, you’ll receive a 30-minute portrait session at your home, or a location around Wakefield, a portrait page in the book “Faces of Wakefield, NH: 250 years and counting,” and a $200 artwork/print credit to spend on wall art and gift prints. This includes our Style & Concept consultation to prepare you and dial in your portrait experience ahead of time, a guided portrait session with portrait artists Kerry and/or Taylor Struble. As a guide, individual prints start at $200, print collections start at $1290, and custom wall art start at $690. Many of our clients spend $1200 to 2500+ on printed artwork, but it’s completely up to you and your budget. Please note that every print comes with a digital copy of that print. Additional packages are available (on the booking page) with more included options.

Where will the session take place?

Sessions can take place at your home in the Wakefield, NH area, or at a different location in Wakefield.

How do I book my session date and time?

After you have reviewed the project info on this page, you may click on one of the “Book Now” buttons, where you can pick a package, a day and time, and pay the session fee. How long do the sessions take?

Session times are either 30 minutes or 60 minutes.

When will we see the photos? How much are they?

Within 7 days following your portrait session, we will hold a selection appointment where you will be given the opportunity to view the images from your session. Please note, no online “proofs,” galleries, or printed proofs are shared. Rather, only at your selection appointment will you be able to view the portraits from your photoshoot, choose your portrait for the Faces of Wakefield book project, and apply your $200 credit towards any order you’d like to make. There is never any pressure or obligation to purchase more than what is included. As a guide, individual prints start at $200, print collections start at $1290, and custom wall art start at $690.
After your order is placed, we will apply the finishing touches to your selected portraits and upload to a Google Drive folder for your approval, usually, with a week’s time. Artwork will usually arrive within 3-4 weeks following your approval.

How much is the book, and when will it be available?

Great question! The book will be a high-quality, press-printed, hardbound publication. It will no doubt become treasured by the community and by your family for generations. The base session package will include the opportunity to pre-order a copy, “at-cost,” which we anticipate being in the $50-60 range. While we don’t have the final cost determined at this time, we anticipate the retail cost of the book will be $100.
Additional packages on the Booking Page include a copy (or more) of the book.
The Book will be sent to production in January of 2025. We anticipate delivery to occur Feb/March of 2025.
